Walk to Canyon Lodge! Ski back! Modern Space

This was a great property. Location was great. I rented in the summer to use as a base camp for fishing and as niche as this sounds, the high ceilings were really convenient for 9’-10’ fly rods. In the winter, it would probably be awesome for a ski trip next year since it’s so close to Canyon Lodge. It’s also just about a 10 minute drive to the grocery off Old Mammoth road. The host was very responsive and proactive. Andy always checked in to see if everything was going fine. Absolutely worth the stay.

The condo and its location were really nice. Beautiful space. However, we were upset to learn that there was construction right outside our window, every day of the stay. We were not warned about this, but the owner must have know from HOA notifications. The contractors were on the roof of the building across from ours, and could see directly into our lofted bedroom, which was uncomfortable. Potential guests should also be aware that the host uses an additional third-party ID verification process before allowing guests to stay, and that even though it was communicated that all messages would come through the Airbnb app, we mostly received direct text messages for this process. Although the host was attentive, there were messages saying we would be responsible for buying more supplies if we ran out. Both fans were broken, and the host said they would address the issue. Upon arrival the coffee pot had old coffee in it from the previous guests.

Summer construction is very common in mountain and ski communities, as most exterior maintenance and capital improvement projects must be completed during the snow free months. These projects are managed by the HOA and are outside of our control. The work is generally limited to daytime hours, and we appreciate your understanding. Regarding our identity verification process, this is a standard part of our reservation requirements and is disclosed prior to booking in the listing description, house rules, and prebooking information. Similar to presenting identification at a hotel, we verify the identity of our guests before arrival since we do not meet guests in person. This helps us provide a safer experience for both our guests and homeowners. We also provide an initial starter supply of common household items such as toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, soap, and basic cleaning products. This is standard practice for vacation rentals and is intended to comfortably cover the average stay. For extended stays or unusually high usage, additional supplies may be needed. Lastly, we sincerely apologize that the coffee pot was not cleaned before your arrival. That is not the standard we strive for, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We also addressed the fan issue and have placed a new box fan in the home. Thank you again for your feedback. We had a great stay. Having a parking spot (covered) that fit a midsize SUV was hugely helpful. Easy walking distance to the lodge through the neighborhood and a steep dirt track. We had the best time, owner was communicative, and hope to be back soon!

I’ve stayed at several properties in Racket and Lodge and this was one of the nicest and guest friendliest. The place was well equipped and simply rentals made getting in and out a breeze, and I love being able to walk both to the village and to canyon lodge.

Super close to Canyon Lodge - can either walk in about 10 mins in ski boots or if you get to the slopes early the free parking lot is a 2 min drive (or premium pay parking if a little later). Clean place. Garage was too small for my 25 Sierra crew cab short bed truck, but there were some outdoor spots available even late at night.

Great unit, easy to find. Clean and close to Canyon Lodge. I probably wont walk it as the driveway to the development is kinda steep for ski boots, but it's close enough if you really wanted to try. Very nicely equipped unit and the manager is very easy to work with. Overall A+

Our stay was great and there was a small technology mishap so we arrived to a less than optimal looking Airbnb. It was fixed immediately with the owner reaching out and also making everything right immediately. The location was great and so was the condo. Very nice place to stay! A bit of a walk to canyon lodge but close enough that it still beats finding parking. The Airbnb was very cozy and hot tub was great. Guidebook was a lot of information but host was very responsive and helpful!

The place was amazing. Easy walk from Canyon Lodge. The host was EXTREMELY responsive. Whenever I had a question he would get back to me within 5 minutes. If you’re lucky enough to book this place, it’s a guarantee you’ll feel comfortable and heard if you have any concerns. Never had one concern though! A beautiful weekend for Night of Lights. Only thing that was missing was a bit of fresh snow! LOL we managed to have a great time still.

I recently stayed at this mountain rental and left feeling disappointed overall. The cabin itself has potential — the view was beautiful and the place could be charming with the right care — but unfortunately, the issues were hard to ignore. The cleanliness was a major problem. Under the bed, the upper bathroom, behind the headboard, and behind the couch were all clearly dirty, as if they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. For the price, I expected basic cleanliness at the very least. They also advertised “walk in and out from the ski lifts,” which is simply not true. The property is actually about 4 miles away from the lifts, so that description felt misleading.I had to drive everyday to get to the ski resort. The fireplace was there but couldn't be used for "safety reasons". Another thing that made the stay stressful was the constant communication from the property manager, Andy. He kept sending email after email, message after message, with endless instructions and reminder.

Any cleanliness concerns are taken very seriously and those items have been addressed in full with our cleaning team to ensure they are not repeated. I do want to clarify a few important points for future guests. The condo is located approximately 0.2 miles from Canyon Lodge, which is where the majority of people ski from when visiting Mammoth Mountain. We have aerial photos in the listing photo gallery with clear markings showing exactly how to walk to Canyon Lodge, as well as how to ski back to the condo. I have personally walked this route with my young children in just over five minutes. The statement that the nearest lodge is four miles away is objectively false. Regarding the fireplace, we do not advertise a usable fireplace in this home, and it is not listed as an available amenity. I also want to note that none of these concerns were brought to our attention during your stay. We were never contacted about cleanliness, location questions, or anything else, and this is the first time we are hearing about these issues. We are always happy to help in real time and encourage guests to reach out so we can address anything immediately. We appreciate your perspective and wish you the best in your future travels.

We (my two teenage sons and I) spent 2 nights at Andy’s place pre Thanksgiving. The place is cozy and spotless clean! There is aplenty of space for 3-4 people to sleep and two bathrooms was a luxury. Easy access to skiing and restaurants.
